柏芙尤真高娃、瑪天絲、王欣瑜及恩絲杜絲卡 四大女網球星落實出戰「保誠香港網球公開賽2023」

(2023年10月4日,香港)中國香港網球總會(「網總」)是日宣佈,「法國網球公開賽2021」女單亞軍柏芙尤真高娃(Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova)、現時女子雙打世界排名第一位及三屆大滿貫雙打冠軍瑪天絲(Elise Mertens)、「法國網球公開賽2023」雙打冠軍王欣瑜及「保誠香港網球公開賽」衛冕冠軍恩絲杜絲卡(Dayana Yastremska)落實加入「保誠香港網球公開賽2023」戰陣;她們將與前世界排名第一艾莎蓮嘉(Victoria Azarenka)、夏達馬雅(Beatriz Haddad Maia)、費蘭迪絲(Leylah Fernandez)、寶達普娃(Anastasia Potapova)、最近於廣州奪得職業生涯首冠的王曦雨及安祖莉娃(Mirra Andreeva),一同亮相WTA250級別國際巡迴賽,在10月7日至15日於維多利亞公園網球主場綻放強大的女子網球力量。
此外,本地球手胡可澄及伍曼瑩亦獲得「保誠香港網球公開賽2023」資格賽單打外卡,聯同先前公佈香港首席及次席女網球手張瑋桓及王康怡獲得正賽單打外卡,這項WTA250賽事將有4名本地球手加入戰陣。在杭州亞運會上,張瑋桓夥拍王康怡闖入女雙半準決賽,張瑋桓則打進單打第三圈。
中國香港網球總會會長莫君逸先生表示:「萬眾期待,『保誠香港網球公開賽2023』終於載譽回歸,並帶來華麗的球手陣容,我們對此感到萬分激動。相信從首輪比賽開始,抽籤結果將是競爭激烈的最高級別比賽。我們吸引到的參賽陣容顯示了香港作為全球旅遊熱點的受歡迎程度,以及這項賽事自2014年推出以來所建立的聲譽。我們很高興能在世界舞台上展示香港的風采,同時進一步推廣香港的網球運動,鼓勵社會各階層人士參與賽事、建立運動和積極的生活習慣。」
柏芙尤真高娃是「保誠香港網球公開賽2017」的單打冠軍,也是「法國網球公開賽2021」的女單亞軍。她曾奪得12個WTA單打殊榮,世界排名更一度躍至第11位。
現時女子雙打世界排名第一位的瑪天絲,曾奪得三個大滿貫雙打冠軍,在單打方面亦是實力強橫。這位世界排名第29位的比利時球手於職業生涯共獲得7個單打冠軍,曾在「澳洲網球公開賽」闖入半決賽,並在「美國網球公開賽」兩次闖入半準決賽。
中國單打排名第三的球手王欣瑜今年在「法國網球公開賽」與謝淑薇搭檔,贏得了她的首個大滿貫雙打冠軍。這位22歲的年輕球手在本賽季成功闖入「美國網球公開賽」第四輪及兩場WTA巡迴賽準決賽後,單打世界排名即升至第37位。
此外,單打衛冕冠軍恩絲杜絲卡將再度踏足維多利亞公園網球主場,希望尋回18歲時在香港奪得WTA首冠的神勇狀態。

10月9日至15日期間,歡迎球迷及市民免費入場體驗「網球同樂區」的精彩活動。今屆「網球同樂區」同樣座落於維多利亞公園網球場,並以「綻放網球力量」為主題,設有多元化的互動環節,包括:有專業網球教練於合家歡迷你網球場即場示範及指導、有大受歡迎的發球速度挑戰、有適合任何年齡人士體驗的網球遊戲。球迷亦有機會於「保誠專區」的簽名區與心水球星見面,親自為她們加油;亦可購買「保誠網球公開賽2023」期間限定紀念品。「網球同樂區」還設置大型螢幕直播賽事,市民及遊客可一邊享受美味小食,一邊觀賞世界級女子網球對陣。

(4 October 2023, HONG KONG) Hong Kong, China Tennis Association (“HKCTA”) announced today that 2021 Roland Garros singles finalist Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova, doubles world No.1 and three-time Grand Slam doubles champion Elise Mertens, 2023 Roland Garros doubles champion Wang Xinyu and defending PHKTO singles champion Dayana Yastremska have entered Prudential Hong Kong Tennis Open (“PHKTO”). They will join former world No.1 Victoria Azarenka, Beatriz Haddad Maia, Leylah Fernandez, Anastasia Potapova, recent Guangzhou champion Wang Xiyu and Mirra Andreeva at the WTA 250 tournament which takes place between 7 and 15 October at Victoria Park Tennis Stadium.
It was also confirmed that Hong Kong’s Tiffany Wu and Maggie Ng will receive qualifying singles wildcards to compete in the WTA 250 event. They will join Hong Kong’s top two players, Eudice Chong and Cody Wong who were previously announced, and who will receive main draw singles wildcards. Chong, Wong and Wu are coming from competing at the Asian Games in Hangzhou, which saw Chong and Wong reach the quarterfinals in women’s doubles and Chong reach the third round in singles.
HKCTA President Philip Mok said: “We are thrilled with the depth of the player field this year as we eagerly anticipate the return of PHKTO. The draw is going to be packed with exceptionally competitive matches at the highest-level, right from the first round. The line-up we have attracted demonstrates Hong Kong’s popularity as a global destination, as well as the reputation the tournament has built since its launch in 2014. We are delighted to showcase Hong Kong on the world stage whilst further developing tennis in the city and encouraging people from all facets of our community to be engaged with the event, sports and active living.”
Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova, PHKTO’s 2017 singles champion was Roland Garros singles finalist in 2021, has 12 WTA singles titles under her belt and reached as high as world No.11 in the rankings. Current doubles world No.1 Elise Mertens owns three Grand Slam doubles titles, in addition to singles success. The world No.29 Belgian has seven career singles titles to her name and has notched a semi-final showing at the Australian Open and a pair of quarterfinal showings at the US Open.
China’s singles No.3 Wang Xinyu won her first Grand Slam title this year in doubles at Roland Garros with Hsieh Su-Wei. The 22-year-old is ranked world No.37 in singles after a success season where she reached the US Open fourth round and two WTA semi-finals. Meanwhile, defending singles champion Dayana Yastremska will be hoping to recapture the scintillating form that led her to capturing her first WTA singles title in Hong Kong aged just 18.
Tickets for 10-15 October can be purchased online at Hong Kong Ticketing (premier.hkticketing.com) with prices ranging from HK$160 to HK$970 and more information can be found at the Tournament’s official website www.hktennisopen.hk. Entry for the qualifying rounds will be free-of-charge on 7 & 8 October and fans can also enjoy all main draw matches with free entry on Monday 9 October, as part of “People’s Monday.”
The PHKTO Tournament Village will be offering entertainment to all with free entry to the public from 9-15 October. Embracing the theme of “Celebrating Greatness,” visitors can enjoy a variety of tennis themed activities including a mini-tennis court with coaching clinics and demonstrations, a serve speed booth and tennis game booths suitable for all ages. Fans will also be able to meet their favourite players at autograph sessions at the Prudential Booth, purchase limited edition PHKTO merchandise and enjoy refreshments whilst catching a live broadcast of the matches on the giant video screen.
